Vakantiepark Fruithof

Surroundings

Taking a holiday in Drenthe and staying at De Fruithof Holiday Park means enjoying one of the loveliest regions in the Netherlands. The campsite borders on a forest, enabling you to enjoy the nature. A camping holiday at De Fruithof is not only fun for you, but in certain parts of the park you can even take your dog along. That makes it a real holiday for the entire family!

On the border of Drenthe

The location of De Fruithof Holiday Park is unique. The village of Klijndijk is located precisely on the border of Drenthe between rich forests and the peat region and it also borders the lovely Valtherbos.

If you go north, you can take wonderful walks and cycling trips in the beautiful woods of Drenthe.

If you go south, then you gradually enter the peat region. Here you can cycle endlessly in a very unique area along Saxon farms, friendly villages or in the direction of Emmen, the city that cycling enthusiasts will always remember as the finishing point of the Vuelta in 2009 and the Gouden Pijl. During the summer, there are many fairs, local markets and events organised in this region – something you surely won’t want to miss.

At the reception desk you can obtain information about the various walking and cycling routes in the area so that you won’t go astray or miss any worthwhile places. You can also simply take the 5-kilometre cycling path to Emmen. The children will feast their eyes at the Emmen Zoo and will have the time of their life in Aquarena, the swimming and wave pool. Gnome Land in Exloo is also a real adventure for small children. And of course, you mustn’t miss visiting the dolmens in Borger during your stay in Drenthe. Want to go shopping the entire day and then tired and content catch your breath at a sidewalk café? Then the centre of Emmen is where you should be!
